Courage in Red

Peace Operations
Air Date:
Details: In the 21st century, crime no longer respects borders. Under the RCMP`s International Peace Operations Branch, Canadian police officers are serving on peace missions in a dozen countries around the world. They train and support local police forces, trying to provide safety and stability to countries in chaos. A new contingent of Canadian police officers has just landed in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. There, faced with extreme poverty, heat and civil unrest, they try to make a difference.
Courage In Red gives Canadians the opportunity to meet the men and women of the RCMP and hear their stories. This series comes at a critical and fascinating time in the force`s history: the RCMP is evolving to address the changing nature of crime in the 21st century. Emerging priorities, tactics and technology - from front line policing to covert units - the force is transforming, making an exploration of it all the more interesting.
